The Old Catholic Apostolic Church of the Americas is the Mother Church of the Cathedral Parish of St. Jude. Here at the Cathedral Parish, as with all parishes of the OCAOA, you will find a loving spirit of acceptance, appreciation and true welcome as you are, without judgment. All are welcome at the table of the Lord because the reception of the Body and Blood of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, is not a reward, but a freely given gift to anyone who wishes to receive it.

Would you like to have Mass said?

As you know, each week we offer the mass for the intention of one of our parishioner families or any additional intentions which you ask us to remember. We are listing those intentions in the Parish Press, so you know when mass is for your family or your intention. If you would like to schedule a Mass for a special occasion, please do so early so your date will be guaranteed.

Please let me know if you have any intention you would like said at Mass. We have mass cards available if you would like to offer a card to someone for the scheduled Mass.

Monthly Healing Mass

Our healing service will be during mass on the Third Saturday of every month. This is a time to pray and ask the Lord for Spiritual, Emotional or Physical Healing. If you know someone who can't be with us, who may need this healing, you can come forward and be anointed and offer healing for that person. This will be continued when we return to church.

Monthly Rosary

We will pray the rosary during the mass on the first Saturday of every month.   This is done at the request of Our Lady during her appearance at Fatima.  We especially pray for those in most need. If you cannot attend the     Rosary at Mass, it is recommended that you do so privately.

Prayers for Seminarians and for Vocations

The 2nd Saturday of each month is a “Vocation Prayer Day” and we say a vocation prayer that God will send more vocations to our Church and to our Parish. This world needs God’s laborers!

Liturgical Ministry

Members of the parish are always welcome to get involved in the Sunday Liturgy by becoming a Leader, Reader, Cross Bearer, Rosary Leader or decade prayer, Altar Server, Cantor, etc. Training will be given, so no reason to be afraid! Let the Archbishop know if you are interested in sharing in any of these ministries.

Special Prayers for each month

Since our move to Christ Church requires us to set-up and take down everything we use for Mass – we ask everyone to try to get to Mass a little early and to plan on staying a little later to help take down.  This works very fast when we have enough help.

Reminder about inclement weather

Throughout the year weather can be unpredictable… and we are always conscious of safety, considering the distance some people drive and the age and mobility of some of us (clergy included!) So, a reminder to check your email – we will make an announcement by 3:00 PM on Saturday afternoon if we are going to cancel mass – you can also call Archbishop Julius with any questions. And even if we do have mass, please be safe and make your own determination about attendance! We don’t want any accidents.

PRAY FOR THE UNBORN

Please pray for God’s will to be done and keep in mind that the only way that we can protect our innocent unborn brothers and sisters is through the power of prayer. Help us put an end to this horrific reality and save the lives of the unborn. Every child deserves a chance, every child deserves a life that only God can choose to end.

We cannot sit by and allow this to continue without strongly voicing our horror while some are strongly advocating legalizing abortions up the day of birth.

We must continue to pray for the Innocent souls of our precious children.

May these HOLY INNOCENTS, Through the mercy of God

Rest in peace.

Sunday of the Divine Mercy

This and That

Christmas Fundraiser

Our Christmas Fund Raiser was very successful this year.  We are looking at a profit of over $ 1,300.00. Donna and Marian did a great job (as always) and everyone worked to make the sales necessary to make this a success. The orders I delivered were praised by those that received them.  Thank you for your hard work and dedication. I am so proud of our parish family for all you do for our church. God bless you and your loved ones.  Archbishop Julius

Christmas 2025

Christmas Mass will be at 5:00 PM on December 24.  Please make every effort to join us as a Parish Family and remember to bring family and friends as we celebrate the birth of our Lord in our hearts. Remember, we will have our Christmas Mass on Wednesday the 24th we will also have Mass on Saturday evenings December 20th and 27th. Please come to all those Masses as this isYou canot a two for one attendance. I am looking forward to being with you as we prepare for the birth of our infant Savior, for the Glorious celebration of His birth and the thank Him on the 27th.

Sharing some thoughts and traditions this Christmas. Please take some time as a family to discuss what gift you will bring to Mass for our Blessed Lord.  Remember, you can’t buy it, but you can only give it from your heart. When you agree on that gift, write it down and put it in a nice box and then wrap it beautifully. Bring it to Christmas Mass.  The Archbishop will bless it and you can take it home  to unwrap together on Christmas morning. This will help you to remember the true meaning of Christmas and keep it alive in your hearts to share with others.

Please remember that as we get closer to Christmas we should greet people with “Merry Christmas.”  We should not say Season Greetings and/or Happy Holidays as they are a secular greeting.  Merry or Blessed Christmas call to mind the true meaning for the Holy Day we celebrate. If someone is not Christian they will let you know and you can simply say “Have a wonderful day.”

You can respect others while sharing your faith with them.

Have a blessed Christmas. God Bless you.

This month (as every month) is Bring a friend to church month. Our church needs to grow and flourish and this can only happen if we work together and keep reaching out to others. The Apostles went out and preached the Good News, converting and sharing their faith with all others, we should do no less. Please reach out and touch someone so they may feel God’s loving touch through you.

Remember to wish everyone a Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year.  This is to honor our Most Blessed Lord on His birthday.

We don’t say Happy Holidays!

Christmas Mass will be at 5:00 PM on December 24.  Please make every effort to join us as a Parish Family and remember to bring family and friends as we celebrate the birth of our Lord in our hearts.

Prayer for Peace

Lord Jesus Christ, who are called the Prince of Peace, who are yourself our peace and reconciliation, who so often said, "Peace to you," grant us peace.

Make all men and women witnesses of truth, justice, and brotherly love.

Banish from their hearts whatever might endanger peace.

Enlighten our rulers that they may guarantee and defend the great gift

of peace.

May all peoples on the earth become as brothers and sisters. May longed for peace blossom forth and reign always over us all.

A Prayer for Peace & Calm

May today there be peace within.

May you trust your highest power that you are exactly where you are meant to be.

May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.

May you use those gifts that you have received and pass on the love that has been given to you.

May you be content knowing you are a child of God.

Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance. It is there for each and every one of you.

Amen.

This is a time for Prayer!
