We will pray the rosary during the mass on the first Saturday of every month. This is done at the request of Our Lady during her appearance at Fatima. We especially pray for those in most need. If you cannot attend the Rosary at Mass, it is recommended that you do so privately.
In the Year of Our Lord, 2025
The Old Catholic Apostolic Church of the Americas is the Mother Church of the Cathedral Parish of St. Jude. Here at the Cathedral Parish, as with all parishes of the OCAOA, you will find a loving spirit of acceptance, appreciation and true welcome as you are, without judgment. All are welcome at the table of the Lord because the reception of the Body and Blood of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, is not a reward, but a freely given gift to anyone who wishes to receive it.
Mass this week is offered Marian, Greg and family

Sunday of the Divine Mercy

June is devoted to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This commentary from St. Pope John Paul II provides a wonderful reflection:
“In the Sacred Heart, every treasure of wisdom and knowledge is hidden. The Heart of the Lord Jesus is the starting point of the holiness of each one of us. From the Heart of the Lord Jesus let us learn the love of God and understanding of the mystery of sin. Let us make acts of reparation to the Divine Heart for the sins committed by us and by our fellow men. Let us make reparation for rejecting God’s goodness and love. Let us draw close each day to this fount from which flow springs of living water. Let us cry out with the Samaritan woman 'Give us this water', for it wells up to eternal life.”
In a recent general audience, the new Pope referred to the parable of the Good Samaritan, stating that this story teaches that “eternal life is found through showing mercy.” He uses this story to remind us that too often we are “like the priest and the Levite who passed by on the other side, at times we fail to be true neighbors to those around us, caught up in our own interests and the busyness of life. The Good Samaritan surprises us by his compassion, and his example of generosity challenges us to lay aside our selfishness."
I’m sure all of us can relate to this. Let's use this time in June to step back and think about what it means to be a true neighbor, and how we can help our parish community be a welcome place that pushes away the darkness of loneliness. We are reminded that Christ is the Good Samaritan who “heals our wounds and restores our hope.” It is important that we turn to the Sacred Heart, the model of true humanity, and pray that our hearts be more like his!

SUMMER GOINGS ON
Jackie and Grace will be away the beginning of July for a family reunion in San Diego, CA. We wish them and their family a happy, safe and wonderful time.
Donna and Russ will be joining their family for about 2 or 3 weeks for a family vacation at the beach. Have a safe and healthy time. Don’t forget that Donna will be undergoing knee surgery when she gets back. Keep them in your prayers.
Darrin will be racing again the last weekend in July. His race will be in CT. We pray for a safe and successful race. Here is a little information on the patron saint of NASCAR.
"Richard's story took place long ago. His family earned its living by farming and after his father died, it was little "Richie" who would drive the family farm cart to market. It is said he was an excellent driver and especially adept at getting the family cart where it needed to go with incredible speed. This helped his family survive and prosper during harvest time. Eventually, Richard's cart racing days came to an end and he enrolled at Oxford University where he once again excelled, only this time academically!"
St. Richard, pray for Al, Bill, Cory and, of course, Darrin.
Greg and Marian spent a week in Georgia visiting with their daughters Mary Ellen and Ally and their families. Welcome Back.
